Live By The Spirit And Not By The Flesh
"So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not
gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
For the sinful nature desires what is contrary
to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to
the sinful nature.
They are in conflict with each other, so that
you do not do what you want.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not
under law.
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual
immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry
and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of
rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and
envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.
I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like
this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self control.
Against such things there is no law.
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the
sinful nature with its passions and desires.
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the
Spirit."
Galatians 5: 16- 25
There are two natures ever in conflict inside us- the Spirit and the flesh. They war against each other. Where we focus our attention, that we will become. Since we are already children of God called to be holy like our heavenly Father, let us live by the Spirit and not by our sinful nature. Remember, our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Let us honor God with our bodies, doing away with all evil desires and exhibiting the fruit of the Holy Spirit so that those who will see us will glorify our Father in heaven.

Its sad tat many giv up coz of sinful desires and pleasures.
We have to believe in Christ Jesus and so pray to help us to come over this conflict.
Hi Priya Joyce,
That is the difference between a true Christian and a worldly person. The Christian looks at himself as spirit first and physical body second, while the worldly person looks at himself as merely physical body with physical and emotional needs. In the end, when we are reunited with our Lord Jesus Christ, our physical bodies will be transformed into a glorious spiritual body and that will be our final body for all eternity. So we must take care that we do not pollute our physical bodies with carnal desires and immoral sexual activities. Thanks for your visit and inspired comments. God bless you always my young friend.
thanx for the lovely reply. I get to learn a lot from u
Hi Priya Joyce,
Salvation is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Religion will not save us unless we have true knowledge. The Bible says, "you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free." Now what or who is the truth? The Bible says in John 14:6, "Jesus answered, 'I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me." And Acts 4:12 says, "Salvation is found in no else for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." And lastly John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." In the above quotations, it is clear that the only way to salvation is Jesus Christ. If there is any other way would not the Father just prescribed them and spared His Son an agonizing death on the cross? Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always my young friend.
the hardest part of christianity is having to sacrifice what looks so good but is very sinful. Thanks for the post!
Hi Natural Body Lotion,
Looking good and feeling good are never sinful but vanity and excessive self love are what make us sin. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.
