Admonitions To Christians For Righteous Living





"God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty
hand, that He may lift you up in due time.
Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
Be self controlled and alert.
Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion
looking for someone to devour.
Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know
that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing
the same kind of sufferings."

1Peter 5: 5b- 10


The world as it is, is so evil right now, and darkness has covered the earth. The triumphant laughter of the enemy is heard all over the world. Men have immersed themselves in deceptions. They reject all kinds of heavenly authority and any form of afterlife, reward and punishment. That is why Peter admonished us to be humble so that God can lift us up from the depths of our sufferings. The people of God are persecuted around the world. But we must stand fast and claim God's promises to strengthen and protect us against all the wiles of the enemy. We may be undergoing trials right now but all our Christian brothers and sisters in Christ around the world are also experiencing sufferings and trials of their own. God is strengthening all of us so that we can resist the final attempt of the enemy to triumph over us. But we will prevail and our King will vanquish the enemy and throw him and his minions to the lake of fire together with all those they deceived. But we will be fetched by the Lord so that we can receive the crown of glory from our mighty King in His blissful abode to live with Him forevermore.

Live In Harmony With One Another






"Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another;
be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate
and humble.
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but
with blessing, because to this you were called so that
you may inherit a blessing.
For, 'Whoever would love life and see good days must
keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful
speech.
He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek
peace and pursue it.

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His
ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the
Lord is against those who do evil."

1Peter 3: 8-12



These are some of the rules for holy living as we await the triumphant return of our Lord Jesus Christ- the King of kings and the Lord of lords. We are admonished to live in harmony with everyone, even with unbelievers whom we must attract to our way of thinking by the good examples they see in us. We must also be compassionate and humble and must love one another as brothers and sisters. We must never repay evil for evil and insult for insult. Let the Lord avenge us from those who malign us or do evil against us. We must also not resort to gossiping and slander but we must reserve our tongues to praising God and giving glory to His name. If we continue to do good and glorify God in our lives, we can be assured that the eyes of God are always fixed on us and He is attentive to our prayers. The Lord blesses those who delight in Him.

Praise Be To God For A Living Hope





"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living
hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the
dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil
or fade- kept in heaven for you, who through faith are
shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation
that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while
you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.
These have come so that your faith- of greater worth
than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire-
may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory
and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed."

1Peter 1: 3-7



God has given us a living hope in Christ so that we will not stumble because of the many obstacles and enticing traps in this decadent and perishing world. In the utter darkness of modern man 's existence, the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead has given us a living hope of the same resurrection we will experience when Jesus Christ comes back to claim His glorious bride- His church. And though we suffer persecutions and calumnies in this world, that living hope is kept in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who strengthens us with power from on high. So we must not weaken and be discouraged when we feel we are swimming against the ocean of decadence and wanton living which the world is now experiencing. Our God is faithful to all His promises and we can hold on to these same promises to keep us above water and not sink in the quagmire of the world's sinfulness. In the end, we will receive the glorious crown of righteousness when the Lord is finally revealed at the end times.

Suffering For Doing Good






"Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?
But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed.
'Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened.'
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who
ask you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clean
conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against
your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good
than for doing evil."

2Peter 3: 13-17



The Lord warned His followers before He was sentenced, died and went up to heaven . He warned His followers with these words, "in this world you will have trouble. But take heart for I have overcome the world " (John 6:33). Those who will follow Christ will suffer persecutions from unbelievers and even from self righteous believers. But we must have courage, for Christ's victory over all His adversaries, even His death on the cross, is also shared by all who believe in Him. Christ strength is our strength; His holiness and righteousness is our holiness and righteousness (they were imputed upon us when we accepted Him as our Lord and savior). In fact, He set no limit to what we can achieve by the power of His name. This is guaranteed in His promise that, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). If we suffer for doing good, we should not be discouraged for the Lord will vindicate us in the end. Remember Joseph in Genesis, he suffered all kinds of trials and was even jailed for doing what was righteous in his eyes and God vindicated him in the end. Remember, "All things work together for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28).

The Lord Knows Us Inside Out




"O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive
my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
You are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue You know it
completely, O Lord.
You hem me in- behind and before;
You have laid Your hand before me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

For You created my inmost being;
You knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise You because I am fearfully and
wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful,

The Lord knows us inside out. He knows everything about us in a way that we ourselves will never know. He knows everything that we do from sunrise to sunset and even when we are asleep. He knows every thought that we have- good, bad, sublime and rubbish. He knows all our emotions and feelings, our doubts and fears, each function of our body. He knows the number of days that we will live on earth, for that has been ordained the moment we were born. He knows us and calls us by our name. There is nothing we can hide from Him. Even our darkest secret is as visible as the naked sun to Him. And He loves us so much as a heavenly Father does to His child. He guides us every step that we make and will never leave us nor forsake us. His love was such that He gave His only begotten Son to die in our place at Calvary. The punishment that should have been ours was thrown at Him and by His wounds we are all healed of all our spiritual and physical sicknesses.

Love Of Money





"But godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we brought nothing into the world, and
we can take nothing out of it.
But if we have food and clothing, we will
be content with that.
People who want to get rich fall into
temptation and a trap and into many
foolish and harmful desires that plunge
men into ruin and destruction.
For the love of money is a root of all
kinds of evil.
Some people, eager for money, have
wandered from the faith and pierced
themselves with many griefs."

1Timothy 6: 6-10


"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." The Bible does not say that money is a root of all evil but the love of money is. The Bible says that, "where your treasure is, there is your heart also." It further adds that, "you cannot love God and mammon (money) at the same time; either you choose one and reject the other." Money is not evil per se. God created money, that is why it is good. What is evil is the inordinate love for money that one will do all things in his power to get it by hook or by crook. Many politicians start out with noble intentions but when they are tempted with fabulous amount of money, they lose their principles and become entangled with amassing ill gotten wealth. Many clan wars have resulted in the death of many clan members because of quarrels with inherited properties. Many heirs end up in bitter judicial suits because they wanted to get the lion share of their inheritance. We can go on and on. But money donated to charities and used to alleviate the sufferings of the needy and dispossessed are money well spent and those who practice them are continuously blessed by the Lord. Let us honor God with our money.

The Great Day Of The Lord



THE GREAT DAY OF THE LORD
"The great day of the Lord is near-
near and coming quickly.
Listen! The cry on the day of the Lord
will be bitter, the shouting of the warrior
there.
That day will be a day of wrath,
a day of distress and anguish,
a day of trouble and ruin,
a day of darkness and gloom,
a day of clouds and blackness,
a day of trumpet and battle cry
against the fortified cities
and against the corner towers.

I will bring distress on the people
and they will walk like blind men,
because they have sinned against
the Lord.
Their blood will be poured out like
dust and their entrails like filth.
Neither their silver or gold will be
able to save them on the day of
the Lord's wrath.
In the fire of His jealousy the whole
world will be consumed, for He will
make a sudden end of all who live
in the earth."

Zephaniah 1: 14-18



There are both historical and scatological (end times) interpretations of these verses. The historical one refers to the fall of Jerusalem, first from the Babylonians and lastly from the Romans, where people during those times were trapped inside the walls of Jerusalem under siege from the Babylonians. Life was so miserable then because of the scarcity of food that some Israelites resorted to cannibalism by eating their children just to survive the onslaught. In both the Babylonian and the Roman siege of the walls of Jerusalem and the eventual destruction of its magnificent temple, very few escaped the sword and death. On the scatological (end times) interpretation of these verses, people of the world have been shown examples of how the end times will come. These examples were the deluge during Noah's time, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the seven great plagues on Egypt and the fall of Jerusalem. The earth will be tried by fire where all the elements will melt and where there will be terrible signs in the sky. After the worldwide cataclysm, Jesus Christ will appear amidst the loud voice of the angel and the trumpet calls that shall emanate around the world. Those who have been dead shall rise first through the powerful command of the Lord, and the living and dead shall be judged. Those whose names are not written in the Book of Life shall be condemned to the Lake of Fire together with the devil and his minions. The righteous and those who called on the name of the Lord will rise with Him to His heavenly abode.

Psalm 23- The Lord Is My Shepherd


PSALM 23 - THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD
"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the
presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow
me all the days of my life, and I will
dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Psalm 23: 1-6



This is my favorite prayer. Aside from the Lord's Prayer, Psalm 23 expresses all the sentiments of a worshiper to his God. Whenever I recite all the Biblical verses that I memorized, I always start with Psalm 23. It is a prayer and a very powerful tool for God's all encompassing mercy, grace and protection in my life. It reminds me that God is my provider; that He always leads me to the empowerment of the Holy Spirit; that He restores my soul whenever I wander off from His path; that He leads me to His path of righteousness to protect His name in my life. And even if we are already feeling the fangs of death in our lives, we do not fear because He is constantly with us. His chastening and support make us strong in times of trials. He provides for all our needs- physical and spiritual. He anoints us with the anointing of sonship as we awaits our eventual reunion with Him. Yes, our days will be full of love, joy, peace and anticipation of His return to earth to fetch us so we can live with Him forevermore.

Love For Enemies




LOVE FOR ENEMIES
"But I tell you who hear Me: Love your enemies,
do good to those who hate you, bless those who
curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to
him the other also.
If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him
from taking your tunic.
Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone
takes what belongs to you, do not demand it
back.
Do to others as you would have them do to you.

If you love those who love you, what credit is
that to you?
Even 'sinners' love those who love them.
And if you do good to those who are good to
you, what credit is that to you?
Even 'sinners' do that.
And if you lend to those from whom you
expect repayment, what credit is that to you?
Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to
be repaid in full.

But love your enemies, do good to them, and
lend to them without expecting to get anything
back.
Then your reward will be great, and you will be
sons of the Most High, because He is kind to
the ungrateful and wicked.
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful."

Luke 6: 27-36



This preaching of Jesus Christ admonishing us to a radical way of life is better than the golden rule. This is divine love expressed in human terms. To His beloved children, He expects better behavior than the ordinary unbelievers who also love those who love them and lend to those from whom they expect repayment. Jesus wants us to follow His way of doing good without expecting anything in return, even a word of gratitude or acknowledgment. We do our good deeds to honor and glorify our Lord and never to appear righteous before men. If our good deeds in the name of our Lord are noticed by unbelievers, then they will praise our heavenly Father for whom we do all our righteous acts. These might lead them to follow our ways and to learn the Gospel of salvation and truth. We should never do things to explicitly appear righteous before men. If we can do that, then our heavenly Father shall give us a crown of glory that He has prepared for those who follow His will and give glory to His name.

The Coming Of The Lord




"Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about
those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men,
who have no hope.
We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we
believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have
fallen asleep in Him.
According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we
who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the
Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen
asleep.

For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven,
with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel
and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ
will rise first.
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught
up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord
in the air.
And so we will be with the Lord forever."

1Thessalonians 4: 13-17



This is a most wonderful promise for those who are faithful in Christ till the end. The Lord will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God. This will be a most glorious day for the Lord, for He will be revealed with all glory, with pomp and pageantry for all the world to behold and marvel. He left the world in shame and ignominy, He will be coming back in full splendor and glory befitting that of the King of kings and Lord of lords. Those who were dead in Christ will rise first. Then those who are faithful to the Lord and are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and to be with Him forevermore. This is the grand rapture of the children of God.

Trust Only In God




"This is what the Lord says, 'Cursed is the one who
trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength
and whose heart turns away from the Lord.
He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not
see prosperity when it comes.
He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in
a salt land where no one lives.

But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose
confidence is in Him.
He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends
out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are
always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought and never
fails to bear fruit."

Jeremiah 17: 5-8


If we trust more on our own strength or on other men, then our efforts are doomed to failure because we did not place our trust in God. In so doing, we are rejecting God and are exalting ourselves or others. Our God is a jealous God. He will never tolerate those who reject Him and in the process, put their own selves or others in a pedestal. They will experience great failure and despair in the end. Not so with those who trust in the Lord. They shall be like a tree planted near the stream whose roots shoot out in the nearby water. They shall always bear fruit in season. They will always experience blessings and protection from the Lord. Whatever they do will surely prosper and succeed.

Doing Good To All



"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap
destruction;
the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal
life.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will
reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially
to those who belong to the family of believers."

Galatians 6: 7-10


Let us do good to all irregardless of the circumstances. Our good deeds become the sweet fruits of our tree that gives glory and honor to God wherever we may go. We must do good even if our good deeds are unappreciated or even twisted that we are accused of false motives. God sees the heart and He knows our motives even if others accuse us of wrong motives. In due time, we will receive a crown that will last.

The Lord Is Our Good Shepherd




"Therefore Jesus said again, I tell you the truth
I am the gate for the sheep.
All who came before Me were thieves and robbers,
but the sheep did not listen to them.
I am the gate; whoever enters through Me will be saved.
He will come in and go out, and find pasture.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;

We are the sheep. Jesus Christ is the good shepherd. He gives us not only
salvation and eternal life but abundant life as well. As long as we abide by our good shepherd, we shall never be wanting in our lives. Someday, there shall be but one flock and one shepherd.

Is it any wonder why there are so much suffering and pains in the world? Innocent and young children suffer generational curses because of the abominable sins of their parents and grandparents. Bowing and kneeling down and praying to idols are all forms of worship. If we do this to anybody except to the one and only true God of the universe and the whole creation, we reap for ourselves and for our children and grandchildren up to the fourth generation, extreme curses and condemnation from heaven. "God is Spirit and His worshippers must worship in Spirit and in truth." (John 4:24)

The Lord Watches Over You


Psalm 121


"I lift up my eyes to the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip-
He who watches over you will not
slumber;
indeed, He who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you-
the Lord is your shade at your
right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm-
He will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your
coming and going
both now and forevermore.

We can sleep peacefully knowing fully well that the Lord watches over us. He neither sleeps nor slumbers and will never let even our foot to slip. Thus is the protection covered by the Lord to His children who obey His will and follow His path. Joy and blessings will be theirs forevermore.

Do Not Love The World



"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world- the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does- comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever."

(1John 2: 15-17)



We can be in this world but not of this world. We can treat this world as just a temporary place we pass through as pilgrims and strangers, for our final destination is our Father's kingdom where the Lord has prepared a place for each of us. The works of this world are sinful and corrupt just like rust that slowly corrupts the metal until it is no longer good for anything but is just thrown away as scrap. Though we may suffer for awhile as we undergo persecutions and trials, they will soon pass away as we approach the light of the glorious abode of our Lord which we will someday share with Him. In the meantime, we persevere and practice patience as we await the return of our Lord Jesus Christ who will fetch us with the loud voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God.

Jesus Christ Is The Vine, We Are The Branches



"I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He trims clean so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."

(John 15: 1-8)


We are all branches of the true vine who is Jesus Christ. If we remain in Him and He in us, we will surely flourish, grow and bear much fruit. But if we separate ourselves from Him we will soon shrivel and die. Jesus Christ is the true vine from whom we get all our sustenance in life. But like a true gardener, He sometimes has to prune us so that we will become more robust and fruitful. The pruning process is painful while it last, but after the pruning is done and we are trimmed of our excess leaves, we start to grow more fruitfully and abundantly until we become a big tree that bears much fruit and offer shade to all the small creatures of God.

ALL CHILDREN OF GOD MUST BEAR FRUIT FOR THE GLORY OF GOD.

Jesus Christ Humility And His Eventual Exaltation Over All Creation Of God



"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality
with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human
likeness.

And being found in appearance as a man,
He humbled Himself and became obedient to death-
even death on the cross!

Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place
and gave Him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father."
(Philippians 2:5-11)


When the Lord returns to earth and at the judgment day, everybody- saved and unsaved and even Satan and his minions, will be required to kneel down and bow before the King of kings and the Lord of lords- Jesus Christ, the Alpha and the Omega. He left this world in shame and dishonor. He will return to this world in triumphant power, glory and honor together with the entire angelic host to judge the living and the dead. Only those whose names are written in the Book of Life will enjoy eternal bliss with Him in heaven. All those whose names are not written in the Book of Life shall be cast to the lake of fire to suffer eternal death and damnation with Satan and his minions.

Rejoice In The Lord






"Rejoice in the Lord.
I will say it again: Rejoice!

And the peace of God, which transcends
all understanding, will guard your hearts

whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is admirable- if anything is
excellent or praiseworthy- think
about such things."

Whatever our situations maybe in life, we must always rejoice in the Lord. For we know that we have an inheritance that far outweighs all that the world can offer, and that is, eternal life with the Lord. Let us always focus on God's presence in our lives, the countless blessings He has bestowed upon us and the everlasting peace that He has placed in our hearts which nobody can take away from us. In order that we may not be off tracked by the allures and traps of this world, let us only think of positive thoughts mainly centered on the Lord and we will have a peaceful and abundant life on earth. Never allow our minds to be occupied by negative thoughts fed to us by the enemy but only glorious thoughts about the Lord and His kingdom.

We Are A New Creation In Christ


WE ARE A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come!
All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself
through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:
that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ,
not counting men's sins against them.
And He committed to us the message of reconciliation.

We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though
God were making His appeal through us.
We implore you on Christ behalf: Be reconciled to God.
God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that
in Him we might become the righteousness of God."

2Corinthians 5: 17-21


We are now new creations in Christ. The old sinful, disobedient self is gone. The new child of God has come. We are tasked to bring to the world, God's message of reconciliation. God made Christ who was sinless to be a sin offering in behalf of the world, so that we might gain Christ's righteousness if we accept Him as our Lord and savior. Our very life, our actions and words must reflect the glory of God so that men will be attracted to what we believe in. We must become the light of the world and the salt of the earth for the glory of God and the emancipation of man from their slavery to Satan's curses of sin, disease and death.

Love


 LOVE
"Love is patient, love is kind.

It always protects, always trusts,

Love is the very essence of the whole of creation. Out of pure, divine love, God created the universe. Out of His great love for mankind, He gave man the chance
to reestablish his fellowship with God through the sacrifice of His only begotten Son- Jesus Christ. God is love. That is His very essence, His innate nature. His love and mercy never fails. They are new every morning. If we love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and if we love our fellowmen as we love ourselves, then we partake of that same divine essence that our God is made of. We partake of His divine nature.

Flee From Sexual Immorality



FLEE FROM SEXUAL IMMORALITY
"The body is not meant for sexual immorality,
but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
By His power God raised the Lord from the
dead, and He will raise us also.

Do you know that your bodies are members
of Christ Himself?
Shall I then take the members of Christ and
unite them with a prostitute?
Never! Do you know that he who unites
himself with a prostitute is one with her in
body? For it is said, 'The two will become
one flesh.' But he who unites himself with
the Lord is one with Him in spirit.

Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins
a man commits are outside his body, but he
who sins sexually sins against his own body.

Do you not know that your body is a temple
of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you
have received from God?
You are not your own; you were brought at
a price.
Therefore honor God with your body."

When we have accepted Christ as our Lord and savior and have surrendered our lives to Him, the Holy Spirit made our spirits alive and He dwells in us as His own temple. Our bodies will be raised at the second coming and will be transformed into glorified bodies by the same Holy Spirit to meet the bridegroom who is Christ. Therefore, we must honor God with our bodies, making sure that we do not dishonor and pollute it by sexual sins. We offer our bodies to God as living sacrifices holy and pleasing in His sight. We must be thoroughly clean- body, mind, heart and soul when we meet our God.

Christ- The Wisdom And Power Of God



"Brothers, think of what you were when you were called.
Not many of you were wise by human standards; not
many were influential; not many were of noble birth.

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame
the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to
shame the strong.
He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised
things and the things that are not- to nullify the things
that are, so that no one may boast before Him.

It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who
has become for us wisdom from God- that is our
righteousness, holiness and redemption."

1 Corinthians 1: 26- 30


When I was not yet a born again Christian, I used my intellect to craft the philosophy and belief system of my life. I chose the path of rational and intelligent thinking and synthesized the different religious and spiritual beliefs to mold my own belief system. But it brought me nowhere. I could not do the good things I wanted to do and the bad things I did not want to do, that I kept on doing. It made me miserable. Being born again in Christ by accepting Him as my Lord and savior and surrendering my entire life to Him enabled me to gain the wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit. Now I know the things of God by His grace and wisdom that is by faith and never by intelleligence. Those who cling to their human intelligence will never have a real encounter with God, for God can be discerned only by pure faith.

Rules For Holy Living



"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly
loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness,
humility, gentleness and patience.
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances
you may have against one another.
Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
And over all these virtues put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,
since as members of one body you were
called to peace.
And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly
as you teach and admonish one another
with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms,
hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude
in your hearts to God.

And whatever you do, whether in word
or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father
through Him."

Colossians 3: 12-17

We must strengthen one another through the singing of psalms and in all kinds of work in the different ministries for the Lord. We gently rebuke those whose paths are swerving to the left. We should encourage one another especially in moments of weakness and trials. We must forgive one another as God has freely forgiven us and must never hold on to grudges and hurts for these will open the way for the spirit of bitterness to creep into our hearts. Above all these, we must love one another as Christ loved us and gave His own life so that we can be free and enjoy the benefit of joy, peace and eternal life.

God's Righteous Judgment



"God will give to each person according to what he has done.
To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor
and immortality, He will give eternal life.

But for those who are self seeking and who reject the truth
and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.
There will be trouble and distress for every human being
who does evil."

Romans 2:6-9


Those who persist in self seeking and pleasurable ways in this world, indulging in all kinds of sin and pleasures, will inherit wrath and judgment from the Lord. But for those who have been persistent in doing good and honoring God with their exemplary lives will inherit eternal life. This world is just a transient place before we go to our final destination- either eternal bliss with God in heaven or eternal damnation with the devil and other accursed in hell. Which destination would we choose?

Call To Righteousness By The Lord


" This is what God the Lord says-
He who created the heavens and
stretched them out,
who spread out the earth and all
that comes out of it,
who gives breath to its people,
and life to those who walk on it:

'I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness;
I will take hold of your hand.
I will keep you and will make you
to be a covenant for the people
and a light for the gentiles,
to open eyes that are blind
to free captives from prison
and to release from the dungeon
those who sit in darkness.

'I am the Lord; that is my name!
I will not give glory to another
or my praise to idols.
See, the former things have taken place,
and new things I declare;
before they spring into being
I announce them to you."

Isaiah 42: 5-9


We are all called to righteousness by the Lord in the furtherance of His kingdom here on earth. We must be very careful in everything that we say and do for the world watches us to see how we glorify or put to shame the name of the Lord. We become bearers of His name, saved and transformed to bear fruit that will glorify the name of the Lord. We must serve as the light of the world and salt of the earth, attracting people to our way of life so that we can become credible and effective testimonies for the Lord. Let us walk in faith and trust the Spirit of God to transform us from glory to glory until we reach the whole measure of the fullness of Jesus Christ. Until then, we are sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of our final reunion with Christ.

The Lord Is My Light And My Salvation


"The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be
afraid?
When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh,
when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble
and fall.
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear;
though war breaks out against me, even then will I be confident.

One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His
temple."

(Psalm 27:1-4)


The Lord is our light and our salvation. Although we are besieged by the enemy, the Lord will not leave us alone to fight our own battles. He is our shield and armor, a very strong help in times of needs. He is the light at the very end of the tunnel. He is the spring after the wintry weather of our soul. He gives us hope when everything else in us is drained. And He gives us His Spirit so that we can continue the fight until the final battle is won and we will meet Him face to face in His kingdom.There we will dwell with Him in eternal bliss.
