Do Not Love The World

"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world- the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does- comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever."

(1John 2: 15-17)

We can be in this world but not of this world. We can treat this world as just a temporary place we pass through as pilgrims and strangers, for our final destination is our Father's kingdom where the Lord has prepared a place for each of us. The works of this world are sinful and corrupt just like rust that slowly corrupts the metal until it is no longer good for anything but is just thrown away as scrap. Though we may suffer for awhile as we undergo persecutions and trials, they will soon pass away as we approach the light of the glorious abode of our Lord which we will someday share with Him. In the meantime, we persevere and practice patience as we await the return of our Lord Jesus Christ who will fetch us with the loud voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God.

You Are My All In All

As human as we are, it's very hard not to love worldly things but it's very good that we have the bible and posts like this which serves as a guide and a reminder that when sometimes we get lost in our journey towards the great kingdom of God, we are reminded to get back and strive to do what God desires. Thank you very much for this post, God bless you and take care always.

Hi Sam,
As Christians, we can live in this world but not of this world. It means that we can participate in worldly activities without getting too attached to it. Anything that hinders with our relationship with God is considered an idol which we must remove in our pedestal otherwise, God might remove it for us. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi teJan /Laikka,
Yes, as I say, we can live in this world but not of this world. Hindi naman maiiwasan na mabuhay tayo sa mundo as pilgrims but we must not get attached to the things of this world for they will hinder our relationship with the Lord. Thanks for your visit and inspired comments. God bless you all always.
