The Wise And Foolish Builders

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine
and put them into practice is like a wise man who
built his house on the rock.
The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds
blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall,
because it had its foundation on the rock.

But everyone who hears these words of mine and does
not put them into practice is like a foolish man who
built his house on sand.
The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds
blew and beat against the house, and it fell with a great
crash."

Matthew 7: 24-27

We must always be guided by the the word of God in our lives. But we must not be readers only of God's words, we must be doers as well. Hearing them and not practicing the word of God in our lives is like building a house in the sand. When the strong winds and storms of life come, the house built on sand will come crashing down. Doing what the word of God says is like building our spiritual muscles. When trials and temptations come we are strong enough to overcome them by the grace of God. We cannot successfully claim the great promises of God as contained in His words if we are not doing His will in our lives. We must practice what we read in the Bible and that would be like building our spiritual house upon a rock. The strong winds and storms will come and go but our house built on the rock shall always stand the test of time.

reading a verse in the Bible just for the sake of reading is not gud..
As u said..understanding what God is speaking to us or telling us through those verses and following that would be the right way...
