The Coming Of The Lord

"Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about
those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men,
who have no hope.
We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we
believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have
fallen asleep in Him.
According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we
who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the
Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen
asleep.

For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven,
with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel
and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ
will rise first.
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught
up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord
in the air.
And so we will be with the Lord forever."

1Thessalonians 4: 13-17

This is a most wonderful promise for those who are faithful in Christ till the end. The Lord will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God. This will be a most glorious day for the Lord, for He will be revealed with all glory, with pomp and pageantry for all the world to behold and marvel. He left the world in shame and ignominy, He will be coming back in full splendor and glory befitting that of the King of kings and Lord of lords. Those who were dead in Christ will rise first. Then those who are faithful to the Lord and are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and to be with Him forevermore. This is the grand rapture of the children of God.

That's just such a glorious message. You might like my free e-book Walkabout: The History of a Brief Century, an attempt at popularizing the Bible's prophesies on those events.

The Rapture.. A very scary but very promising thing for all of us faithful. I am scared because I want all my family to be able to go up in the clouds and meet the Lord... I am confident though that I will be one of the faithfuls awaiting God in the clouds... Sana nga lang po sana kasama ko ang lahat ng pamilya...

Salamat po kuya Mel for reminding us about the promises of God and that we will only be saved if we stay faithful to HIM... As always, your posts keeps reminding us about our real purpose of being here and keeps us in perspective...

I am so glad I met you in the blogosphere, because it feels like I met a pastor friend. Somebody who would help me in my spirituality. Somebody who would help me understand His words and His promises. You are truly a blessing to all of us reading your post...

Thank you for your visit and your comments po...

Hi Shy,
This is the description of the rapture of the faithful when the Lord comes back for His radiant bride- His church. It will be a scene unlike anything the world had seen or will ever see again. Only those who accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and savior and have walked in the way of the Lord will be fetched by the Lord on that day. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.

Hi Kathy,
Thank you so much for your very kind words but as always, TO GOD BE THE GLORY. People will ridicule us for the stand we make regarding Biblical prophecies but they are there in the Holy Bible. It is just a case of whether you believe in them or not. Of all the prophecies of the Bible, the eschatological prophecies are the most maligned prophecies of all because they speak of the end times. But we are not inventing them for they are there in the Bible contained not only in the book of Revelation but in other books as well. Only time and the actual coming of the Lord will tell who is holding on to the truth and who are holding on to their own self serving philosophies. Thanks for your visit and inspiring comments. God bless you all always. BTW, you don't have to worry about your family. Just entrust them all to the Lord and He will see to it that they will accompany you in the rapture.
