The Fear Of The Lord

"Praise the Lord.

Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
who finds great delight in His commands.

His children will be mighty in the land;
each generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches are in his house,
and his righteousness endures forever.

Even in the darkness, light dawns for the upright,
for the gracious and compassionate and righteous
man.

God will come to him who is generous and lends
freely,
who conducts his affairs with justice.
Surely he will never be shaken;
a righteous man will be remembered forever."

Psalm 112: 1-6

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. When we see the Lord in His awesome power and might, we are filled with reverential awe and fear of Him who created the vast universe which knows no limit. Wisdom, power, love, riches and glory await those who have a reverential fear of the Lord.

These days people want to respect the Lord from a distance, because its easy to do that, but the faithful ones truely fear Him and that 's where life begins.

Hi Amrita,
Amen to that my wondeful friend. The Bible says, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. It is the reverential fear and awe of Someone whom we don't want to offend after all the wonderful things He has done for us. Many miss that point. Thanks for your visit and inspired comments. God bless you and your loved ones always.

Mel! I have been away too long! You have a few posts that I have not seen. I sometimes get caught up in the idea that He is a loving God and forget that He is also and ANGRY God, and one to be feared. Great post as always.

Hi Jennifer,
Fearing God is different from our usual fear. It is a reverential fear of the Lord and the uneasiness on our part to offend Him after all that He has done for us. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you and your loved always my friend.
