"Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things and the things that are not- to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him.
It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God- that is our righteousness, holiness and redemption."
1 Corinthians 1: 26- 30
When I was not yet a born again Christian, I used my intellect to craft the philosophy and belief system of my life. I chose the path of rational and intelligent thinking and synthesized the different religious and spiritual beliefs to mold my own belief system. But it brought me nowhere. I could not do the good things I wanted to do and the bad things I did not want to do, that I kept on doing. It made me miserable. Being born again in Christ by accepting Him as my Lord and savior and surrendering my entire life to Him enabled me to gain the wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit. Now I know the things of God by His grace and wisdom that is by faith and never by intelleligence. Those who cling to their human intelligence will never have a real encounter with God, for God can be discerned only by pure faith.

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
Colossians 3: 12-17
We must strengthen one another through the singing of psalms and in all kinds of work in the different ministries for the Lord. We gently rebuke those whose paths are swerving to the left. We should encourage one another especially in moments of weakness and trials. We must forgive one another as God has freely forgiven us and must never hold on to grudges and hurts for these will open the way for the spirit of bitterness to creep into our hearts. Above all these, we must love one another as Christ loved us and gave His own life so that we can be free and enjoy the benefit of joy, peace and eternal life.
"God will give to each person according to what he has done. To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, He will give eternal life.
But for those who are self seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil."
Romans 2:6-9
Those who persist in self seeking and pleasurable ways in this world, indulging in all kinds of sin and pleasures, will inherit wrath and judgment from the Lord. But for those who have been persistent in doing good and honoring God with their exemplary lives will inherit eternal life. This world is just a transient place before we go to our final destination- either eternal bliss with God in heaven or eternal damnation with the devil and other accursed in hell. Which destination would we choose?
