"Pride goes before destruction,
a haughty spirit before a fall.
Better to be lonely in spirit and
among the oppressed than to
share plunder with the proud.
Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.
The wise in heart are called discerning,
and pleasant words promote instructions.
Understanding is a fountain of life
to those who have it,
but folly brings punishment to fools.
A wise man's heart guides his mouth,
and his lips promote instructions.
Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
There is a way that seems right to a man,
but in the end it leads to death."
Proverbs 16: 18-25
The Bible says, "that fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." A reverential fear of the Lord, whereby we avoid everything that will cause any displeasure to Him and alienate us with our Creator, is the right path to a righteous living. And humility is a virtue highly esteemed by the Lord. He brings down those who are proud and conceited and promote the cause of the lowly and humble of heart. Without wisdom and discernment, we may be living a life that seems pleasing to our eyes but without God's discerning wisdom in our heart, that same lifestyle might lead us to eternal death. Blind are those who follow their heart's desires for pleasure and fame. They are treading a wide path to destruction. Better to be humble and have a discerning heart that will teach us to follow the narrow path to eternal life with the Lord.

What an inspiring blog! We need to humble down ourselves before God.And true humility entails accepting His will and not our own will. We Filipinos, specially our leaders, must show a dose of humility and less pride and arrogance in the eyes of God.Thanks for the lovely post.
Hi Tineegirl03,
Thank you so much for your kind words but as always, TO GOD BE THE GLORY. Yes, we must be humble before the throne of an Almighty God who holds our very lives in the palm of His hands. Thanks for your visit and inspired comments. God bless you always.
Wow Mel, I love the poem. Your bible sharing here is so helpful for those who forgot to open the bible or even go to church like me. I am so far from any church that I could go in here, and i forgot to bring my bible too when I came here, so thanks for sharing this beautiful words. I'll add this blog soon para I can visit here all the time.
Hi Shydub,
I'm so happy that you appreciate this blog but as always, TO GOD BE THE GLORY. This is my ministry blog. I used to teach salvation seminars at church and Bible studies at cell groups but the Lord brought me to the larger medium of the internet. It is a lonely and thankless job since I seldom get feedbacks but I trust in the word of God that His words will not return to Him empty handed until it accomplishes the purpose for which it was sent. Thanks for your visit and inspiring comments. You just made my day. God bless you always.
