Live By The Spirit And Not By The Flesh
LIVE BY THE SPIRIT AND NOT BY THE FLESH
"So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not
gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
For the sinful nature desires what is contrary
to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to
the sinful nature.
They are in conflict with each other, so that
you do not do what you want.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not
under law.
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual
immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry
and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of
rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and
envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.
I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like
this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self control.
Against such things there is no law.
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the
sinful nature with its passions and desires.
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the
Spirit."
Galatians 5: 16- 25
There are two natures ever in conflict inside us- the Spirit and the flesh. They war against each other. Where we focus our attention, that we will become. Since we are already children of God called to be holy like our heavenly Father, let us live by the Spirit and not by our sinful nature. Remember, our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Let us honor God with our bodies, doing away with all evil desires and exhibiting the fruit of the Holy Spirit so that those who will see us will glorify our Father in heaven.

Hi Emmanuel,
Yes, God is really good all the time. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you always.
So true. Yet, many people nowadays, desire material things more, especially being rich and luxurious than being closer to God.
Hi Tocayo,
Amidst the backdrop of these uncertain times, we should look more for the spiritual things in life than the material and temporal things. These things shall perish by fire together with all worldly things. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
