Psalm 23 - The Lord Is My Shepherd
"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the
presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow
me all the days of my life, and I will
dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Psalm 23: 1-6
This is my favorite prayer. Aside from the Lord's Prayer, Psalm 23 expresses all the sentiments of a worshiper to his God. Whenever I recite all the Biblical verses that I memorized, I always start with Psalm 23. It is a prayer and a very powerful tool for God's all encompassing mercy, grace and protection in my life. It reminds me that God is my provider; that He always leads me to the empowerment of the Holy Spirit; that He restores my soul whenever I wander off from His path; that He leads me to His path of righteousness to protect His name in my life. And even if we are already feeling the fangs of death in our lives, we do not fear because He is constantly with us. His chastening and support make us strong in times of trials. He provides for all our needs- physical and spiritual. He anoints us with the anointing of sonship as we awaits our eventual reunion with Him. Yes, our days will be full of love, joy, peace and anticipation of His return to earth to fetch us so we can live with Him forevermore.

Hi TeJan,
Thanks for your visit and inspiring comments. Hello to all Filipinos in Sweden especially to your family. God bless you all.
yes so true he always guides us to the right paths..
Am so happy to read this..it gives me so much peace..
I am reminded of the story about the prodigal son. It's so easy to stray from God's path, seeking opportunities elsewhere, but true contentment comes from following Him.

Paborito ko rin po ang verse na ito mula sa bible kuya Mel... Lalo na in times of problems, I always recite thisa kasi it strengthens my soul and my faith.. It reminds me that God is with us always and if He's with us, no matter what it is that's against us will never win...
Salamat po kuya Mel sa bisita at sa prayers... Na-miss ko na po talaga ang pagbasa sa inyong mga posts... It's like food for the soul..
Hi Kathy,
Salamat sa compliments but as always, TO GOD BE THE GLORY. Psalm 23 is a very powerful prayer. It was included in the standard C-ration of the US Marines during World War 2 and had been a constant source of strength and encouragement for so many soldiers, afraid and uncertain of their future. Thanks for your visit and inspired comments. God bless you all always.
