Jesus Heals A Paralytic
"A few days later, when Jesus again entered
Capernaum, the people heard that He had
come home.
So many gathered that there was no room left,
not even outside the door, and He preached the
word to them.
Some men came, bringing to Him a paralytic,
carried by four of them.
Since they could not get him to Jesus because
of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof
above Jesus and after digging through it, lowered
the mat the paralytic man was lying on.
When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic,
'Son, your sins are forgiven."
Now some teachers of the law were sitting there,
thinking to themselves, 'Why does this fellow talk
like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins
but God alone?'
Immediately Jesus knew in His Spirit that this was
what they were thinking in their hearts, and He said
to them, 'Why are thinking these things? Which is
easier: to say to the paralytic, "your sins are forgiven,"
or to say, "Get up, take your mat and walk?" But that
you may know that the Son of Man has authority on
earth to forgive sins...' He said to the paralytic, 'I tell
you, get up, take your mat and go home.'
He got up, took his mat and walk out in full view of
them all.
This amazed everyone and they praised God saying,
'We have never seen anything like this."
Mark 2: 1-12
Sometimes God uses sickness and illness to bring to the attention of the diseased person his state of living in sin. Sometimes, the callousness of the sinful heart of man deadens the still small voice of his conscience and God uses sickness to remind him to repent and be healed both in body and spirit. Total cleansing of our body, mind and soul through honest repentance and going back to the loving arms of God opens the body for the the pouring of the healing Spirit of God. Thus the sinful and diseased person is restored back to health both physically and spiritually.

Live By The Spirit And Not By The Flesh
LIVE BY THE SPIRIT AND NOT BY THE FLESH
"So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not
gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
For the sinful nature desires what is contrary
to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to
the sinful nature.
They are in conflict with each other, so that
you do not do what you want.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not
under law.
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual
immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry
and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of
rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and
envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like.
I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like
this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self control.
Against such things there is no law.
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the
sinful nature with its passions and desires.
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the
Spirit."
Galatians 5: 16- 25
There are two natures ever in conflict inside us- the Spirit and the flesh. They war against each other. Where we focus our attention, that we will become. Since we are already children of God called to be holy like our heavenly Father, let us live by the Spirit and not by our sinful nature. Remember, our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Let us honor God with our bodies, doing away with all evil desires and exhibiting the fruit of the Holy Spirit so that those who will see us will glorify our Father in heaven.

The Lord Protects Us From Danger And Untimely Death
THE LORD PROTECTS US FROM DANGER AND UNTIMELY DEATH
"I love the Lord, for He heard my voice,
He heard my cry for mercy.
Because He turned His ear to me,
I will call on Him as long as I live.
The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came upon me;
I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.
Then I called on the name of the Lord:
'O Lord, save me!'
The Lord is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.
The Lord protects the simplehearted;
when I was in great need, He saved me.
Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the Lord has been good to you."
Psalm 116: 1-7
Those who fear the Lord and are obedient to His will need not fear any danger or untimely death. The angel of the Lord encamps at the tent of those who love Him. Even if thousands fall at the wayside and ten thousand surround those who fear the Lord, they shall be unharmed for their protection is the Lord. The Bible says that no weapon made by man shall harm those who fear the Lord and walk in His ways.

Living Sacrifices
"Therefore I urge you, brothers, in view of God's
mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices,
holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual
act of worship.
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this
world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind. Then you will be able to test and
approve what God's will is- His good, pleasing
and perfect will.
For by the grace given me I say to every one
of you: Do not think of yourself more highly
than you ought, but rather think of yourself
with sober judgment, in accordance with the
measure of faith God has given you."
Romans 12: 1-3
Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We must keep it clean, holy and without the stain of sin. To be more Christlike, we must renew our minds and check every thought that comes to us with the standard of Jesus Christ. Then, the Holy Spirit will begin the process of transforming us from glory to glory until we reach the whole measure of the fullness of Jesus Christ. Then God will be glorified in every thing that we do, say and think and we will shine like the stars in the firmament of heaven.

Blessed Is The Man Who Walks In The Ways Of The Lord
BLESSED IS THE MAN WHO WALKS IN THE WAYS OF THE LORD
"Blessed is the man who does not walk
in the counsel of the wicked or stand
in the way of the sinners or sit in the
seat of mockers.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on His law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season and whose
leaf does not wither. Whatever he does
prospers.
Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that
the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in
judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of
the righteous.
For the Lord watches over the way of the
righteous, but the way of the wicked will
perish."
Psalm 1: 1-6
Blessed is the man who meditates on the laws of the Lord and does His will in his life. The Lord will watch over him and he will be blessed with all good things in life. He will be like a tree planted in the stream who will yield its fruit in season. But the wicked will perish with the evil that he does in his life.

Share Your Wealth With Your Less Fortunate Brethren
"Command those who are rich in this present world
not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth,
which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God,
who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds,
and to be generous and willing to share.
In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves
as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they
may take hold of the life that is truly life."
1 Timothy 6: 17- 19
Let us make ourselves channels of God's blessings to our less fortunate brethren, not withholding the help that we can extend to them. Our treasures are not of this world but in the kingdom of God where our reward for our good deeds await us. Freely give as we have freely received from the Lord.
Give Thanks
